Colleen Childerley

Colleen graduated from Conestoga College with a diploma in the course study of Legal Secretarial in 1980. She worked in the legal field for a large law firm in Guelph from 1980 to and including 1988. Between 1981 and 1983, Colleen took night school classes offered through the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario. In 1983, after writing the four examinations required, she became certified as a law clerk in all four areas, including Civil Litigation, Real Estate, Corporate Commercial, and Estates.

Since 1983, Colleen has continued to be employed as a law clerk for various firms in Guelph, Timmins, and Stratford. During her employment, she has worked in all areas of law as practiced by the lawyers under whom she is employed. Her work includes Civil Litigation from commencement of the action by Statement of Claim or preparation of the Statement of Defence through to Trial; Real Estate including purchases, sales, refinances, and severances; Corporate including incorporations, initially setting up the Minute Book, and continual Annual Minutes; and Estates including assisting in the completion of all forms necessary, and all steps necessary to obtain a Certificate of Appointment of Estate Trustee through to distribution.

Colleen is currently employed as a law clerk at the law offices of O. Arakua Lamptey, Barristers and Solicitors, in Stratford, Ontario. She is married to Glen Childerley, an O.P.P. in Sebringville, and has three sons, Scott, Brendan and Mark.
